Academic
The Middle Years are an exciting time for students as they start extending their learning and subject experiences by moving away from spending the majority of their school time with one teacher in one location.
In the Middle Years at Good Shepherd a range of traditional curricular core subjects are taught, such as English, Maths and Science, along with the introduction of a range of new specialised subjects taught by specialised teachers. Starting in Year 6, Middle Years students begin experiencing rotations of classes in Art, Music, Information Technology and Design Manufacturing. In Year 7, students continue exploring their core and rotation subjects and further developing their knowledge and skills in these areas. From Year 8, the list of elective subjects are extended and by Year 9 students are able to choose their electives from an even larger number of subjects in preparation for Senior Years studies.
