Street Smarts Q - Schools Cup - Term 2

The College enters girls and boys teams of various levels into this competition each year.

Ability Level: Beginners to advanced

Venue: Noosa and Maroochydore

Age Groups: Yr 4 - Yr 12

Dates:

Primary (Yr 4 - 6) - Wednesday 1st June, Thursday 15th June 2023

Junior ( Yr 7 -9) - Thursday 12th May 2023

Senior (Yr 10 - 12) - Thursday 1st June 2023

Time: All day event

Transport: College bus provided

Team Trials: Necessary if numbers exceed team requirements.

Training Times: TBC

The AFL Queensland Schools Cup is a competition run by AFL Queensland

Over 250 schools, 600 teams and approximately 12,000 students participate across Queensland and New South Wales, Northern Rivers. The competition is FREE for all public, private and independent schools within Queensland and New South Wales, Northern Rivers. AFL Queensland provides field umpires and first aid officers across all venues.

Good Shepherd begins this competition by participating in a regional gala day with the winning team from each division advancing to knockout finals.

Divisions consist of the following grades:

Primary Male: for male students enrolled in Years 4-6, 15 a-side + 3 interchange

Primary Female: for female students enrolled in Years 4-6, 12 a-side + 3 interchange

Junior Male: for male students enrolled in Years 7-9, 18 a-side + 7 interchange

Junior Female: for female students enrolled in Years 7-9, 16 a-side + 4 interchange

Senior Male: for male students enrolled in Years 10-12, 18 a-side + 7 interchange

Senior Female: for female students enrolled in Years 10-12, 16 a-side + 4 interchange

Junior Male Inclusion: for male students enrolled in Years 7-9, who have been identified as having a disability under the Education Adjustment Program (EAP), 12 a-side + 4 interchange
